Original Report

The respondent, a 48 yers-old Moroccan man, claimed that he had crossed the Serbia-Romania border on the night of August, 1st at 3AM. He was travelling with three other men, one from Syria, two from Morocco. The events he described all took place in the Majdan vicinity.

As the group just crossed the border, one Romanian Police car stopped by. Two officers came out and summoned the group to sit on the floor. Shortly after a second car, a station wagon with seats in the boot joined the first Police patrol. The two officers that came out took the group apart. They told them to sit in the boot.

« They came to us and started beating us », recalls the respondent.

The group was then driven back to the border and pushed back to Serbia.
