Original Report

A 24 year old Syrian man attempted to enter Hungary close to the Horgos Border at 10pm at night. 5 Hungarian police officers apprehended him, one with a rifle described as a Kalashnikov. The police officer with the rifle hit his head, and also his ankle which was injured as a result (pictured) and the rifle was also used to smash the screen of his mobile phone (also pictured). He was told to lie on the ground and the officers pushed him into the ground with their feet. There was one female police officer who slapped him and laughed at him, she also took photos of him. During this interaction the police also attempted to take money from him, but the man put his money inside his mouth so they couldn’t take it from him. The police told him many times ‘shut up shut up’.  He was taken in the car to a police station where they took photos of him before returning him to Serbia.

Czech army also reported to be seen at the Horgos border, but not involved in this particular pushback.
