Original Report

A. and C., both16 years old, B. 17 years old and another friend of them, 18 years old, but sleeping during the interview, stayed in the squat of Sid, at the old factory Grafosrem, before they went on game on March 23, 2019.

It was late in the evening, when they walked towards the Batrovci border, and entered a Serbian truck, parked right before the border. At 9 am, three Serbian border officers opened the truck and found first C. and his friend.

“The police officers were tall and muscular and very white with green eyes. They had no hair and no caps and wore dark blue uniform.”

The policemen asked C. and his friend if there were other people in the truck, which they denied. As a consequence, they were beaten and kicked all over their bodies by feet, hands, but not with a baton. C. finally confessed that there were two other individuals in the truck. They quickly found A. and B. and kicked and punched them also a lot. Meanwhile, another border officer joined the group.

“It was a big fight, with feet and everything. It was very dangerous, their shoes were like stones.”

C. explained that he tried to protect his head with his arm.  B.’s mobile got damaged because it was in his pocket, and his jacket was torn in pieces.

“The jumper is gift for police.”

He also had some marks on his body, but didn’t want to show them. The two drivers, one of them Serbian, one Turkish, were also joining the beating. They were insulting them in their different languages. From the four police men, three were beating while another one was ‘good’.

At some point thou, they all managed to escape by running into the forest. The police men tried to run after them, but weren’t fast enough. C. showed me a scratch he got from the trees during the escape. All the sleeping bags of the guys stayed inside the truck. This happened in the morning of the same day as the interview was conducted. It was 6 pm when the report was made, and they were preparing to go on game again the same night.
