Anjila Areezo's opening speech at the HRC's intersessional event on Human Rights Monitoring in migration contexts

On 16 February 2026, Anjila Areezo, a member of the Global Strategic Advisory Board on Gender and Migration for the Border Violence Monitoring Network, will be opening the 2nd session at the Human Rights Council's Intersessional panel discussion on the human rights of migrants.
The session, titled "Strengthening human rights monitoring and complaint mechanisms in the context of migration", will be moderated by Mr. Carlos D. Sorreta, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations Office in Geneva. You can find the agenda for the event here.
