The respondent is an Afghani man aged between 19-30. He describes the violence he experienced on the 4th of November, 2020 around 17:00. The respondent reports he was hiding in the space between the driver’s cabin and the cargo of a truck. A port security guard approached him on a motorbike and saw him. His age seemed to be around 25-26 years old and he had dark eyes and hair. The respondent said he could easily identify the aggressor again.
He ordered him to come out, to which the respondent obeyed. While he was exiting, the respondent fell. He was lying on the ground when the guard hit the respondent’s head strongly with a baton. In the process, he shouted some common Greek insults at him. “A lot of blood was flowing from my head as I tried to stop the hemorrhage with my hands”. The respondent's head was badly wounded and a heavy blood flow started to show. The guard's reaction was to flee the scene and disappear. A different port security guard came to find the respondent in this state, and, together with another guard took the respondent to the so-called “commando house”. One of the guards poured water into his wound in order to clear the blood, and one of the port security guards ordered all of the working team to join in a quick meeting. Once they were all there, the respondent was asked to point at the guard responsible for the violence. The respondent easily identified him and clarified who had attacked him. In the process, the respondent notified a friend of his about the incident and his friend was able to pick him up at this building and leave the New Port of Patras.
